The following may gross you out. There… I said it here so you can read at your own risk! 😉
If you’re a mom of young kids, you’ll know what I mean when I say I hate cleaning the high chair and car seats for Passover!
That usually entails a good 30+ minutes of scrubbing, vacuuming and tooth-picking the hard-to-get-to spots.
This year, thanks to a good *great* friend and Shaatra Club reader, I was able to clean these things WITHOUT reaching for a rag or paper towel!!
This here picture is before it soaked for an hour on each side. It doesn’t look that dirty, but today happened to be an off day. 🙂
Ok, now here is the AFTER:
Pictures don’t do justice… Here is a highchair that is used and abused daily by my 15 month old!
To say how impressed I am that I really just stuck it in the tub and let it soak, is an understatement!
AFTER THE WATER WENT DOWN:
Not sure if you can tell how much dirt and grime was released…
The highchair didn’t seem that dirty, but this method of cleaning really took out all the dirt I wasn’t seeing!
You can try this with anything really.
Here’s what you do:
1. Fill up your tub with very hot water. Add some dish soap or laundry detergent (I used detergent for a super clean)
2. Place the item you are cleaning in the tub, don’t worry if some parts stick out.
After an hour, rotate everything so that the parts that weren’t submerged in water are now submerged.
Leave another hour or so.
3. Drain the water and use the shower head to spray -with hot water- all over and take care to rinse off the hard-to-get-to areas.
4. Once done, place the item(s) on a towel on the floor to dry.
*NOTE: If you are cleaning an infant car seat with foam on it, you MUST blow dry it when done soaking.
